Anxiety in children can manifest itself in various ways, and you have to be attentive to their daily behavior and observe if they present any of these symptoms:
- Tachycardia, nervousness: In the middle of an anxiety attack, the main symptom is the loss of the slow rhythm of the heartbeat.
- Excessive sweating: The nervousness that triggers an anxiety attack makes the body sweat more.
- They look for any reason not to go to school, due to loss of self-esteem.
- Dizziness and increased heart rate may occur, even vomiting.
- Muscle tension: The muscles become stiff and tense.
- Stomach pain: Anguish and anxiety directly affect the stomach.
- Sleep problems, nightmares, poor sleep.
- Children with anxiety tend to be very perfectionist and demanding of themselves, they worry excessively about everything, even the least important things.
- Difficulty concentrating: The state of anxiety does not allow concentration and the child may begin to have attention problems.
If you notice any of these symptoms in your child, he or she may be experiencing anxiety you should take responsibility for consulting with your pediatrician, who will guide you appropriately regarding this situation.
